Child safety activist Byron Blackwell, whose infant son was killed in a side-impact car accident, is our Special Guest on "Community Matters" This Week .. radio talk show, Sunday night - 8pm EST, 5pm PAC. Byron and his local Moose Lodges are promoting the FREE distribution of "The Cradler," a simple soft neck restraint for child car seats to every newborn that leave a maternity ward in California and Nevada. They want the Zacharia Fund, which supports the effort and is named in honor of his son, to become a nation-wide program. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The host of "Community Matters" is Bill Murray, founder of the NAACC and LA Community Policing, the non profit which began as his reaction to 9-11 and has long since become the world's largest grassroots effort devoted to community based policing. The once strictly regional web site (LACP.org) has gone National, and features nearly 3000 pages of articles, information and ideas for how the community can become engaged in assuring public safety and improving the quality of American life. Join Bill and co-host Ms. MJ Goyings as they discuss this week's events and news. Frequent visits from special guests and episodes featuring important cultural issues are all a part of "Community Matters" .. where call-in participation is always welcome!
