CENTRAL FLORIDA'S: BIG DADDY FRANK

GOD BLESS AMERICA.... What is an American? An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan. An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans. An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America, they are free to worship as each of them chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and/or for God. An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world. “The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.” An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return. When crisis happens around the world throughout our history we have answered the call. Americans Welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least. “The national symbol of America, the Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. “ Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, anywhere, is an AMERICAN!

    Help Honor Our Heroes

"They were superb! That word correctly describes it: superb! They took terrific

casualties. They showed rare courage and tremendous fighting spirit. Not too

much can be said of the performance of those battalions in Europe and everybody

    wanted them...."

    -General George C. Marshall

SoldierDear Patriots, Friends and Fellow Americans,
You are cordially invited to a VERY special once in a lifetime National event that is being held in Houston, Texas with keynote speaker, Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
We are honored and humbled to host this special 65th Anniversary Tribute dinner for veterans of the "Rescue of the Lost Battalion." On November 1st, we are holding a special event in Houston, Texas that is a tribute to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team (RCT), both surviving and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, whose heroism rescued the Texas based, 141st Infantry Battalion during this fierce and pivotal battle in World War II.
During World War II, the 141st Regiment were surrounded by the Germans and facing complete defeat. Two other units had failed to break through enemy lines to rescue this battalion. The 442nd Regiment was then sent in and successfully defeated the Germans and rescued the remaining 141st Battalion members.
medalsThe 442nd had previously distinguished itself as tough, capable and determined. This all Japanese-American Battalion wanted to prove to its country that they were Americans first and foremost. When they began the mission to rescue the Lost Battalion, few military leaders thought success was conceivable. They were given the most dangerous assignments and later became known as the Purple Heart Battalion because they received more purple hearts and more Congressional Medals of Honor that any other Battalion.
The 442nd suffered hundreds of casualties during the battle, but still defeated the much larger and better supplied German forces, and rescued the remaining 211 members of the 141st. Not only did the 442nd rescue the 141st...they also went on and accomplished the mission the 141st had embarked on over 8 days before. The news of this rescue quickly spread around the world reinvigorating the allied forces....demonstra ting that no soldier would be left behind...no matter the cost!!!!
We hope you will click here and make plans to attend this once in a lifetime event and make a contribution to help fund some special projects. Should you be unable to attend, please consider a contribution to enable these heroes to attend this event before their numbers decrease any further.
These heroes are 85-95 years old and will be brought to Houston for this tribute to their bravery and commitment to bring every soldier home!! So far 37 have confirmed their participation and we are working hard to underwrite all the travel and other expenses for these heroes to come together for this likely final tribute to this piece of American history that is so close to being lost.
However, we still need underwriters for 12 of these heroes. You can go here to fully underwrite the expenses for these Veteran Heroes for $1,500 or partially sponsor a veteran for $250. Both will be listed in the Tribute Program if we receive your contribution by Monday, October 19th. If you are unable to attend and choose to sponsor a veteran, a Tribute Program will be sent to you as a keepsake for your participation.
The proceeds of the event will pay for the veterans and a family member to attend this final tribute. Show your support for these heroes by making a donation today. And an educational interactive exhibit will be funded that will insure the "Rescue of the Lost Battalion" will be remembered for generations to come. During their time in Houston, oral histories will be taken of these remaining World War II American heroes and they will also get to spend time with their fellow heroes and reminisce about this shining moment in history 65 years ago.
