Lisa Sniderman, aka Aoede, is a 45-year old award-winning, quirky, folk-pop artist, playwright, teaching artist, and author from San Francisco. Since 2012, she has been honored with more than 50 awards for songwriting, audiobooks, and stage plays, all while she was suffering from a rare autoimmune disease: dermatomyositis, a progressive muscle weakness disease.

Join Nancy J. Reid and Lisa D. Smith, the mother-daughter travel team and publishers of Big Blend Magazines, for Big Blend Radio’s Quality of Life show with Lisa Sniderman, who discusses her memoir "A Light in the Darkness: Transcending Chronic Illness through the Power of Art and Attitude." Recently released and published by Crimson Cloak Publishing, the memoir spans 10 years of what it was like living with chronic illness, and is an inspiring message for those living with chronic illness, disability, and unexpected life challenges. Lisa’s songs featured on this episode include ‘Perfect Day’ and ‘If You Already Knew’.

This episode was sponsored by Find Something Awesome! A Book Series by Matt Scott that Teaches Kids Early in Life the Wisdom and Life Lessons Adults Get From Self-help Books.
