Based in Sydney, Australia, Simon Kinny-Lewis is one of the new breed of blues guitarists making his mark worldwide. His own original brand of contemporary blues and rock has created a loyal fan-base of guitar enthusiasts around the globe. He has performed and recorded with highly regarded musicians such as Chris Cain, Anton Davidyants, Nate Ginsberg (Herbie Hancock’s band), Christian Howes, Simeon Cain (Henry Rollins Band) and many more. He has produced five albums to date with his most recent “Catfish” reaching #1 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts.

His debut band album “Bad Whisky” is due for release mid 2018 and features his incredible band that includes top Sydney musicians Tony Boyd (drums), Shannon Stitt (Hammond) and Rob Ewan (bass). Together they are a formidable musical combination and have been turning heads at some of Australia’s biggest festivals including Thredbo Blues Fest, The Australian Blues Music Festival, Gympie Muster, Manly Jazz Fest, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival, and Bluestone Blues.

On this episode of Big Blend Radio, Simon discusses his upcoming album “Bad Whiskey”, talks about his music, world travels and return to California this summer to perform a number of gigs including Robb Bower’s 20th Annual Julian Blues Bash held June 16, 2018 at Menghini Winery in Julian, a beautiful mountain destination in San Diego, Southern California. Thanks to Jeremy’s on the Hill California Style Bistro up in Julian, CA for sponsoring this show.
