Carlisle Richardson, United Nations economic-affairs officer and author of “Island Journeys: The Impact of the Island Way of Life at Home and Abroad," talks with Big Blend Radio about the Future of the Islands.

In 2016 the goals of island communities will be to pursue initiatives to reduce the impact of climate change, promote renewable energy, and explore the sustainable use of the oceans and seas. For the islands, these are priorities. In helping the islands in these pursuits, the establishment of partnerships will be necessary action steps.

This interview originally aired on Big Blend Radio on Dec. 4, 2015, live from the historic Coronado Motor Hotel in Yuma, Arizona, the headquarter hotel for the Big Blend Spirit of America Tour of all 409 National Park units. Big Blend Radio is hosted by Nancy J. Reid & Lisa D. Smith, publishers of Big Blend Radio & TV Magazine.
