This episode we feature a panel of guests discussing the history of Willcox including Fort Bowie National Historic Site, Chiricahua National Monument, the historic downtown district that’s on the National Register of Historic Landmarks and is known for wild west shoot-outs including the shooting and death of Warren Earp (Wyatt Earp’s brother), cattle rustling, train robberies, and ranching and mining in the surrounding areas. We’ll also discuss Willcox today, a town that still holds its historic charm but is now known for its wineries and wine tasting, farms and orchards, the Rex Allen Museum and Rex Allen Theater, art and entertainment, events, birding and nature activities, and more.
Featured guests include historians, authors, community and business leaders, local media, winemakers, farmers, area travel experts, and national park rangers!
