The Cuban Missile Crisis was a standoff that brought the US and the Soviet Union to the brink of nuclear destruction. On October 27, 1962, a near-catastrophic confrontation occurred between an American destroyer – the USS Cony -- and a Soviet Foxtrot class submarine – the B-59 - which was armed with a deadly nuclear-tipped torpedo. Nancy & Lisa will interview 5 of the naval officers who were aboard the USS Cony during this confrontation including: Gary Slaughter, Andrew Bradick, Bob Mitich, Jim Knapp, and Paul Goorjian. Both Gary Slaughter and Andrew Bradick appeared in the documentary 'The Man Who Saved The World'.
