Elena Paraskevas-Thadani, is an experienced employment attorney with over 20 years of experience in the legal profession. After being an equity partner of the law firm Littler Mendelson, the largest global employer and labor practice in the world, she founded EPT Legal. Elena now serves clients (both individuals and corporations) with employment law compliance, workplace questions and labor issues. In addition to employment law, Elena is an experienced trainer, an executive coach, a mediator of workplace disputes. She is a graduate of Fordham College and Fordham Law School and has clerked for two federal judges in New York.

About your discussion she says, "There is a dire need for a workplace forum where employees can have safe, confidential conversations facilitated by a neutral party. A mediation program in every workplace will provide this forum. 20 years ago Human Resources and Compliance did not exist as departments meant to minimize risk. They evolved over the last few decades to insure the enforcement of company policies. Companies invested in these departments because the potential liability outweighed the investment. Likewise, mediation can assist in resolving workplace disputes by increasing communication and transparency. By doing so, employment litigation and other workplace disputes can be more cost-effectively resolved."
