Michael Frankel is a serial entrepreneur with a focus on user acquisition and retention.  Shortly after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, he launched his first venture, Kosher Advantage, a paid membership driven company that brings consumers into local restaurants and stores.  Most recently, he launched HULEDET.  HULEDET (www.HULEDET.com) drives customer acquisition for businesses through birthdays and other key personal dates.  Consumers opt-in and, when their special day comes, HULEDET emails them about fun things to do, places to go, and includes perks to serve as a call to action.

Michael also works with start-up entrepreneurs through a variety of venues, including as a judge in the New York Public Library business plan competition and the Presentense incubator.

About our discussion he says,"Data shows that celebrating birthdays builds more customer loyalty.  Again, logic supports this.  If a customer has a good experience with you, they’ll be much more likely to return.  People going out to celebrate their birthday are typically in good moods.  Good moods mean better experiences, which means a growth in their relationship with you and more visits throughout the year."
