Often when trouble hits our neighborhoods we naturally turn to those who were elected to look after our best interest to respond. That is a reasonable reaction, however, in reality – the power for change lies with the people themselves. Perhaps the main problem is that an unorganized neighborhood is open to all kinds of threats. The most useful thing the elected official can do is to lead by example and keep the neighborhood united in interest! The position that every citizen should take in on the street, in the neighborhood or community is “If it’s to be- it’s up to me”
