James has been a regularly scheduled workshop presenter at the annual Los Angeles Tarot Symposium (LATS) since 2001. In May of 2005 he was one of the featured speakers at the New York Tarot Reader's Studio, which is an annual three- day event hosted by the New York Tarot School.
James' book, "Tarot Tells the Tale," which features sample readings for well-known historical, mythical, and fictional characters, won 1st Runner Up in the General Interest category in the 2004 Coalition of Visionary Resources (C.O.V.R.) Awards. His writing has been praised for being clear, insightful and easy to read.
James also wrote: "Tarot -- Get the Whole Story" “Tarot Affirmations,” Tarot: Get the Whole Story: Use, Create & Interpret Tarot Spreads Knighthawk's Tarot Readings: A Guide to the Art of Tarot Reading Using Subjects from Literature, Mythology, and History and The Original Tarot Coloring Book
James also created the deck "Tarot of the Masters" and its accompanying book: Uncovering The Tarot Of The Masters: An Instruction Book For The Tarot Of The Masters Deck
James also reads Tarot cards (individually and for parties, as well as via telephone) & teaches workshops on the subject.
James' "Tarot of the Masters" deck has had two printings that have sold out.
