As the world awaits the market arrival of the latest “screen” – in the form of the new iPad from Apple – Chris Kenneally talks with Peter Kaufman of Intelligent Television about the emerging global “screen culture” and its potential to transform everyone’s lives for good. In 1000 days – sometime in 2013 – 11 billion square feet of digital screen surface will exist on earth, enough to cover the planet’s surface almost 50 times. And as quickly as that happens, Kaufman says, online video programming is just as quickly surfacing wherever content is found. “Imagine the day that Wikipedia becomes video-enabled,” he muses. “And when the video on Wikipedia will be as easy to edit, manipulate, correct, annotate as the text is today, it will blow the doors off of everything.”
