    Online Video With Lou Bortone

Thanks Lou for the great show on how to develop our presence online with Video!

Lou Bortone grew up in the TV industry and has been involved in all aspects of the entertainment business for more than 20 years.  Today, Lou is a writer, producer and online branding consultant who teaches entrepreneurs how to build breakthrough brands on the Internet, with services such as copywriting, online video, brand coaching and creative support.  Lou also produces a weekly unique and light-hearted videoblog called LouTube.  (He is also a certified Book Yourself Solid coach!)

His number one tip was just get your videos out there. They don't have to be perfect.
So true, we all get better the more we practice. From the mantra of Beyond Lip Service
Be Bold. Life is about taking ACTION. Let's get our online videos to show the world what gifts we offer.  His recommended action steps are:

    1. Buy (or try) a webcam to make a short test video.
    2. Sign up for a free account at YouTube and/or Blip.tv and follow their upload instructions to post your test video.
    3. If you’re happy with the results, post your video to your blog or to Facebook.

Lou makes it sound so easy, I will let you know when I get my first video up!

Even though Lou assured us it doesn't have to be perfect, he did offer these things to watch for — the biggest mistakes people make when starting out with online video:
    o Bad audio
    o Bad lighting
    o Shaky cam
    o Bad background/setting
    o Bad content

We had a great chat question about music and copyright. Two sites Lou suggested for music you can use without copyright infringement were:
    http://www.digitaljuice.com/
    http://www.revostock.com/

His parting thoughts on great online video are:
o Keep your videos brief – Under 3 minutes
o Talk about something you know and care about
o Be authentic – be yourself

    Lou’s website is at www.BigIdeasGuy.com.

Lou’s “freebies” and for more information:
    1. Free Flip Video guide at www.FlipCamTips.com
    2. Audio mini course about Online Video at www.TheOnlineVideoGuy.com

Have a great day whatever your adventure
