Hard to believe, but it is finally here.

Opening day May 15, 2009 for our new American Sports Bar, Route 66, located inside the Olympic Casino, in Vilnius, Lithuania.

18 months and tooooo much money, later, the Grand Opening takes place this Friday, May 15, 2009.

A coincidence that the much anticipated Angels and Demons shares the same Opening Day?

I think not.

We are raffling off a brand new 2010 Harley.

Welcome to your life.

My Godson, Zachary Schwartz, had perfect timing, arriving on
Miami Beach, Friday, May 8, 2009.

Congrats to Mom Karla and Daddy David.

Zachary weighed in at 6 lbs., 8 ounces and is in excellent health.

GodMom Betsy intends to treat him as her own.  The son i never had, has arrived.

Thanks Sister Karla, ya done good.

What a lovely Mother's Day Gift.  It doesn't get better than this.

Remember Auntie Mame, that eccentric aunt, who influenced her nephew Patrick?

Mame's got nothin on us Sister K.

He will learn a lot from us.

I know New York is in his future.

And many other wonderful places and experiences.

He chose us to share his lovely life with this time around and i could not be more honored or proud.

Welcome, welcome welcome Baby Boy Zachary.

Just do Aunt Betsy a favor, don't grow up too fast.

No cell phone in First Grade.

No Personal Computer for your 3rd Birthday.

No pet lizards, frogs or rats and absolutely NOT to anything that
hssssss, looks like, slithers like or is a snake.

The only Python you can associate with  are late night reruns of
Monty Python.

bunnies are absolutely acceptable as pets, but please, just one at a time.
Mom and I are not Noah's Ark, so keep it limited to one bunny every 7 years.


No Spring Breaks in Mexico unless Mom and I are in the next room.


No driving my Mustang till you're 18.

Mom and I will pick out your Prom Date.  We must make sure she's good enough for
Our Zachary.

No Dating without Mom and I chaparoning, till you are at least 35.

That's The Rules for now, but they are subject to change.


Sleep with The Angels, Little Zachary.

I do tend to eat a  lot of honey, and i mean a lot.

On bread with peanut butter, over apples, over bananas, over pears.

I use a lot of honey.  Billy Bee where are you?

Suddenly, I find my cupboard, like Old Mother Hubbard's, bare.

Sacre hockey pucks, say it ain't so somebody.

Metro, Sobey's, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, no honey on sale.

I went to Google and tried Noah's Natural Foods.  A Toronto staple for all that is pure, organic, gluten and chemical free. I typed  "honey"  into the search box and hit
Enter.

I'll find some honey in the 'hood if it kills me.

It just about did, when i saw $16.99 for honey.

Holy Mother McCree, i thought i saw it at $7.50 a jar yesterday.  How did it spike overnight?  Did the H1N1 aka The Swine Flu attack all the Honey Hives in Canada?

What is going on here?

Ohhhhh, honey blonde natural hair dye.

Honey natural ointment

Honey ointment.

What about just plain old honey?  You know that golden sticky stuff bees are famous for?

I'd love to blog on but I am a desperate woman.

Gotta dash out and find some honey.

Cravings, cravings, cravings.

And a side note, i just can't believe Lil' Kim and Derek are gone from Dancing with the Stars.

What is this world coming to?

No honey and no Lil' Kim and Derek.

I can just hear Regis now.

May is always a great month.  It brings warmer temperatures, yes! even here in Toronto the Good.  It brings the Kentucky Derby, Long Weekends to enjoy, Canada first, then Memorial Day "down South," aka, as The USA, lovely tulips (Thank You, Holland) and let's not forget TV Sweeps.

Now that we will soon be in re-runs the networks will be going at it full speed ahead to out do each other getting viewers to tune in during this crucial ratings month.

And let's not forget Mother's Day.

I had to laugh last night, while watching The Amazing Race.

Contestants had to eat Chinese Delicacies, aka as Deep Fried Bugs!   in either Canada or the Good Ole US of A.

One of the Featured Fried Critters was a grasshopper.   His "sidekicks," and we are not talking Lipton here, were Star Fish, and Larvae.  I would have accepted defeat at that last one.  There is no way i could eat the "spongy inside,"  as contestant Victor described what eating larvae tasted like.

I would have thrown in my barf bag, my passport, my acceptance tickets from CBS in, along with the proverbial "towel," and maxed out my VISA Card,  for a ticket homeward bound (did you know that is where the word Hobo comes from? )  Well, count me in as one Hobo, because that would be where I would be headed.


Eating larvae is my Achilles Heel, or in this instance, my Gag Reflex Heel.

Once upon a time, as a joke, I bought my mother chocolate covered grasshoppers, bees, crickets and ants.

Totally as a joke.  Expecting them to sit on display in our living room till the End of Time.

Mais non!  Not my Mother.

Thanks to some help from Seagram's Seven and the 7-Up Company, those dipped to die for crisy critters were gone within an hour, when my Mom treated herself and our Mailman to lunch time delicacies from Wanamakers, Philadelphia.

And you thought all the perks were gone from the Post Office.

You've never delivered mail in Shamokin, Pa. 

Make that, you never delivered mail in the 5th Ward, in Shamokin, Pa.
