Forget Letterman, and Leno and Ferguson and the Late Late Late Movie, for all you insomniacs in my Beloved Toronto, turn on the Miracle Channel at 1 am and watch Paul Arthur, the Producer and Host of In Sight. In Sight is an inspiring, Christian Show, brimming over with positive vibes and hope for a hopeless world. I tune in every night 1 am till 4:30 am. 3.5 Blessed Hours of Good News. What a way to fall asleep, in peace and blessed assurance. This morning Paul's guest was someone I had never heard of Rev. Ken Gaub. Rev. Gaub told Paul a story of being on a road trip, with his 2 sons and wife. The family was travelling in 2 motor homes. Rev. Kaub hails from Washington State, and has made appearances on The 700 Club. He is well known in Christian Broadcasting Circles. Until this morning, I had never heard of Rev. Kaub, though I have been an audience member of Paul Arthur's demographics, for the past 2 years. Back to my story, which is really Ken Gaub's story. His 2 sons were out and about doing some type of business, and his wife went off in another direction. Rev. Gaub decided to get some exercise and go for a walk. They were stopped in Ohio. As he passed by a telephone booth, remember those iconic structures, that you see in the late night movies, circa 1947 - the phone inside the booth rang. Something inspired Rev. Ken to pick up the phone. Now, how many of us would do that? I have had it happen 2x in my life and 2x Betsy kept on movin down Mt. Pleasant Road. Not Rev. Kaub. He picked up the phone and said, Hello. On the other end, an operator said, "I have a person to person call for Ken Gaub." "I'm Ken Gaub," was the Reverends reply. As if this was nothing out of the ordinary. Out of 50 States in the Union, a stranger puts through a person to person phone call to him. In the right State, in the right town. What are the odds? Could a screenwriter think this up? I hardly think so. But I'm ready to give God the Oscar for Best Original Miracle of 2008. Move over Marley and me, the Holy Spirit is in the House. Do any Generation Y Kids know what a Person to Person call is, or was? That was a big deal back in the 60's. Wow! A long distance call, specifically for you. I was just wondering around Christmas Time, if anyone still makes person to person calls. Well, I found out at 1:30 am that yes! Someone still did and they specifically were calling Ken Gaub. Stranger still, the caller was a distressed woman, from the Western Coast of the United States, who told Rev. Gaub, "God gave me your telephone number." Everyone who knows me, or ever listened to my podcast, knows i do NOT believe in coincidences. But, I do believe in God. Very strongly. And I believe coincidences are winks from God, as Squire Rushnell wrote in his book, of the same title. Listening to this story last night, I was thinking, gee, amazing miracles just don't happen to me, but many people. So if you need some Miracle and Amazing Stories that will put your mind at ease and give your Faith a boost, tune into Paul Arthur.
