Betsy Balega

Well, I have lived to die another day, and not last night, on the 401, on the back of a Kawasaki Racing Bike.

Going north on Mt. Pleasant, I  was just getting my groove back.  North on Bayview, I was thinking,  if there is an accident, I hope I land on Norman Jewison's lawn at the Canadian Film Centre at 2489 Bayvliew Avenue.   Ahh, Bell Canada, (proud sponsor of the Toronto International Film Festival and the CFC), your logo went whizzing by, or i guess, the truth is WE went whizzing by.  No speed traps or radar guns around.  No,  we didn't break any laws or go over the speed limit, it just felt that way. That was nothing compared to getting onto the Trans Canada Highway,  Have you ever seen those Motorcross Racers, who are leaning so far to the right, they are almost touching the ground. That was us last night.  Can ya believe it?  Me neither.  All i could think of,  was, maybe i will join me dear old Irish Mother tonight, the same night she crossed over, I will join her. .

I wondered if i harbor a subconscious death wish to join her, i miss her so much at times.

Madame Daredevil did NOT hold onto the driver, until eventually,  we took the off ramp at Yonge, and headed south, down to my place.  Then, Ms. Evil K-alega, remembered, oh, you're supposed to hold onto the driver while you are cruising.  Cruising, or taking chances?  Sing it Celine.

I love having fun, and last night was definitely fun.  But, somehow, the words of Danny Glover ring in my head, his line from every Lethal Weapon movie, "I'm getting to old for this  ****."

Right there with ya, Danny.
