Tuning In With Betsy

  • Archived Blog Post

    Date / Time:

WTF is a Scientology Banner doing on my Profile Page?

My blog today has many people to talk about and acknowledge, but what the hell is a Scientology banner doing on my Host Page, of Tuning in with Betsy?  That's as bad as the company, that "gifted" me with a website, BetsyBalega.com, in 2005 and then proceeded to place ads them from Witches, who do Spell Casting, and a banner for an author, who enorses eating Magick Mushrooms to receive Visions.

No thanks, I'll pass.  I relinquished the website.  I don't endorse Witchcraft, Spells, Drugs, Hallucinogenics.  My drug of choice is coffee.

So please Grand Advertising Poobah of Blog Talk Radio, remove the Scientology Banner before I begin to curse in Hungarian and Galic at the same time.

Now, the purpose of my Blog today is to honor, Dr. Sheela Basrur, the wonderful Medical Dr. who guided my Beloved Toronto, through the SARS Crisis of 2003.  Dr. Basru, died yesterday, at age 51.  What she accomplished in those 51 years is something only a select group on this earth attain.  She was compassionate, caring, selfless, kind, generous of her time, talent and in her Spirit.  Her shoes will be difficult to fill.  Dr. Basrur we hardly knew ye, but you will never be forgotton.  You calmed a city in crisis in the Spring of 2003.  You're a Class Act and a hard act to follow.

    God bless.

And keeping in the same vein.  Vancouver Canuck Rookie, Luc Bourdon was buried yesterday, in his hometown of Shippagan, New Brunswick.  Another Canadian who won't be forgotten.  Unlike Dr. Basrur, Bourdon left this earth at 21.  He was just beginning to settle into the NHL career he had dreamed about since childhood.  What kid in Canada doesn't want to end up in the NHL?  None that i can think of.   Don Cherry has been acknowledging Luc, during Coaches Corner, on the Stanley Cup Games, carried by CBC.  And Love and Hugs, to Suzette, the Mother of Luc Bourdon, who raised him in Shippagan, pop. 3,000.  A rising star.  Please guide those Penguins, will. ya, please.

Then, we have the passing of Mr. Fashion, Yves St. Laurent.  What can i say.  Someone who suffered with bouts of Depression and Loneliness.  Who woulda thunked it.  Take a lesson there kids, (now I am beginning to sound like Don Cherry).

Lastly, Anerson Cooper turns 41 today.  Happy Birthday Coop.
