Happy 2-4 Weekend all you Canucks out there in Podcast Land. It's Victoria Day when we stop and think back on Albert and the Missus. Yeah, for about a nano second. 99.5% of Torontonians are NOT in Toronto this weekend, but UATC, up at the cottage.Time to clear the driveway, rake leftover leafs (and not just those in blue and white hockey jerseys down at the ACC), fight with the black flies, check out the boathouse, and for heaven's sake, do not reconnect your sattellite tv, this is the Great North Proud and Free, we do NOT need cable tv up North. Is nothing sacred? Apparently not. How can you become hypnotized by tv in the wilderness? We have thousands of lakes, moose, deer, elk, beaver, loons (and not all in Ottawa and Queens Park) and so much more to embrace. So, put the remote into hibernation and enjoy the Great Outdoors here in Canada. Nothin like it. No place like this place, any place. Sorry Ontario Tourism, if i just slaughtered your theme song and made it sound more like an Honest Ed's slogan. Either way, you're the best. And I am grateful to be here. There is simply nothing like surviving another Canadian Winter. Nothing. This year, i was amazed i made it. Brutal, breaking all records. Dave Devall, Anwar Knight, Tom Brown have some mercy will ya.Well, lthis is our First Long Weekend of the Spring/Summer and to all you American Cousins out there, our 2-4 weekend not only honors Queenie, but the sacred 2-4 case of Canadian Beer. How appropos, ya don't have that SOB, South of the Border. What else is a holiday weekend for? Oh yeah, spending time with the family, oops, that one's in February, relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. And appreciating. Here's hoping your 2-4 Weekend is great. See you at the Fireworks tonight.Betsy Balega
