    From the world we see, to the Unseen World we sometimes see, that makes us stand in awe of God's Universe, this is Betsy Balega, welcoming you   From Cape Washington in the South,  to Nunavik and the Northern Lights in the Arctic Circle.  From the White House Gates to Lions Gate, from Casablanca to everyone listening around God's Globe,   Bon soir, Montreal, this is Tuning in With Betsy on Blog Talk Radio from  Marvelous Manhattan.  Tonight my special guest is author Joan Wester Anderson.
    Author and lecturer Joan Wester Anderson was born in Evanston, Illinois. She began her writing career in 1973 with a series of family humor articles for local newspapers and Catholic publications, and was a monthly columnist for two national magazines during the 1980s. She has published more than one thousand articles and short stories in a variety of publications, including Woman's Day, Modern Bride, Virtue, Reader’s Digest, and the New York Times Syndicate.

    Her  books include WHERE ANGELS WALK, TRUE STORIES OF HEAVENLY VISITORS, which was on the New York Times best-seller list

    for over a year.   The sequel to ANGELS, titled WHERE MIRACLES HAPPEN, and for children, AN ANGEL TO WATCH OVER ME  were published in 1994.. . FOREVER YOUNG , the life story of actress Loretta Young, was published in, 2000. Anderson’s  book, IN THE ARMS OF ANGELS  covers angelic activity primarily during the past decade, including stories of hope from the 9/11 and Columbine School tragedies.

      She has appeared on national television programs including "Good Morning America," "Oprah," "20/20,” “NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw" and "Mother Angelica Live," . She was featured in the documentaries  "Angels--Beyond the Light" (NBC), “Angel Stories” and "Stories of Miracles” (The Learning Channel), and many videos. She was a story consultant for the television series, IT’S A MIRACLE,. She lectures in cities across the country. She has been a guest on hundreds of radio shows.

    Joan is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and a former adjunct professor at Harper Community College in Palatine, Illinois. She and her husband live in suburban Chicago, and have five grown children and 3 grandchildren.

    1.       WHEN YOU GIVE A TALK,  DO PEOPLE ASK YOU HOW TO CONTACT THEIR ANGELS, WHAT DO YOU TELL THEM?

    I THINK ASKING FROM THE HEART IS IMPORTANT, SINCERITY, AND OUR ANGELS CAN TELL WHEN WE ARE SINCERE.

    2.   ONE THING I HAVE ENCOUNTERED ARE DESPERATE PEOPLE.

    THEY MAY BE DESPERATE DUE TO JOB LOSS

    A DEATH IN THE FAMILY

    A BREAK UP IN A RELATIONSHIP OR A DIVORCE

    THERE IS A SENSE OF URGENCY FOR THINGS TO BE BETTER INSTANTLY.  BUT HEALING TAKES TIME

    I THINK ONE THING IS THAT PEOPLE MUST REALIZE TIME IS DIFFERENT IN HEAVEN, OR IN THE SPIRIT WORLD.

    WHAT MAY SEEM LIKE AN ETERNITY TO US, HERE ON EARTH,  FOR THINGS TO IMPROVE, IN HEAVEN, OR COMPARED TO ETERNITY, THAT AMOUNT OF TIME,  FOR THE HEALING TO TAKE HOLD, IS JUST A DROP IN THE BUCKET.  OR A DROP IN THE OCEAN.

    3.   .ANOTHER POINT IS THAT PEOPLE BECOME TOO EAILY DISCOURAGED AND GIVE UP PRAYING TOO SOON.



    GIVE US SOME EXAMPLES OF YOUR FAVORITE STORIES FROM YOUR BOOK, JOAN.


    MOTHERS PRAYERS. 

    I HAVE HEARD THIS OFTEN, THAT A MOTHERS PRAYERS HAVE A PRIORITY GETTING ANSWERED QUICKLY.

    MY MOTHER - ALWAYS RECEIVED A ROSE AND HER PRAYERS WOULD BE ANSWERED.

    LILLIES BLOOMING IN OUR YARD IN LATE OCTOBER.

    I PRAYED FOR SOMETHING IN JANUARY 1995  I HAD JUST RETURNED TO TORONTO FROM MANHATTAN, AND IT WAS WORK RELATED.  I HAD A ROSE BUSH IN MY BACKYARD AND ONE PINK ROSE BLOOMED IN MID JANUARY.  THE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 20F.
