Mallory Hytes Hagan was crowned Miss America on January 12, 2013.  She represented the State of New York during the 2013 Miss America pageant where she won both the swimsuit and evening gown portions of the competition.  For her talent, she performed a tap number to James Brown's "Get Up Offa That Thing".

In addition to the $50,000 college scholarship as part of the Miss America award package, Mallory joined an elite sorority of women to hold the title of Miss America dating back to 1921.

Mallory's platform, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention, is predicated on abuse suffered by members on her own family and is, therefore, very close to her heart.  Within 24 hours of her reign as Miss America, she was in communication with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan promoting awareness of child sexual abuse.

Mallory's major initiative as Miss America was to become a spokesperson for the Chidren's Miracle Network where she travelled approximately 20,000 miles per month in its support.

Mallory's future plans consist of becoming a global marketing director for a comestics company after earning her degree in cometics and fragrance marketing.
