Two embittered losers share tales of disappointment, humiliation, and impotent rage, as well as their opinions and venom. Adolescent humor aplenty!

BLOG TALK RADIO IS CENSORING MY BLOGS!

I just tried to post a comment from one of my listeners which included the fairly tame "S-bomb."

The site would not allow me to post the comment, with a warning in red letters that my blog contained a word that might offend some listeners.  Never mind that people don't listen to a blog.

Isn't the whole point of this project to create self-organizing communities which band together around shared tastes, interests, and yes, even mores?  Why should BlogTalkRadio censor my blog when no one is forced to read it or even listen to my show?  Why am I allowed to broadcast a show under the label of "mature comedy" (so everyone knows what to expect), in which every conceivable profanity is used indiscriminately, but then I'm not allowed to refer to that content using the same language on my own blog?

People who are offended by "profanity" won't listen to my show and won't read my blog -- hence they are not in danger of being offended.  And even if they are, they won't be offended by BTR, they will be offended by me, and go back to listening to cooking and gardening shows, or whatever.  People who listen to my show, on the other hand, aren't offended by "profanity;" rather, they consider censorship profane.  And if they, and people like them, feel as though BTR is imposing arbitrary standards of what is appropriate content for blog communications within a small, self-organizing community of listensers, then they WILL blame BTR.

Seems like a dumb policy all the way around -- anyone can tell me what gives?

Help Us Finish Our Nick Cage Blind Vigilante Script!

Our first show went great!  For an unorganized, unprofessional, sometime shouting match, it went great.  The topic, "kiss of death actors," took a little while to get off the ground, but we finished up strong when we decided that one of the requirements for being a hall of fame kiss of death actor is having been in a blind vigilante movie: like Armand Assante, Rutger Hauer, and Ben Affleck.  But wait!  Nick Cage definitely belongs in the hall of fame!

So we took it upon ourselves to create, on air, over the course of however many shows it takes, the story and perhaps even the script of the next POS Nick Cage action blockbuster, in which he will play a blind vigilante.  Imagine it: the first open source, group writing/improv project, created over the internet that will become a Hollywood blockbuster!

What does the public want in a movie?  Let's find out!

I know, I know, delusions of grandeur, but it's fun to fantasize, anyway.

But seriously, if you want to help create this story, call in to subsequent shows!

    Talk to you then,

    Ash.
