Attorney Sarah Avraham and writer Bennet Pomerantz discuss the subjects of the day.

The audience should know that although Ms. Avraham is a licensed attorney, she is not offering legal advice in any capacity, is not establishing an attorney/client relationship with anyone listening to the show, and recommends that any listener of the show consult a local attorney for any legal advice they may require.

This show is about us discussing hot topics and how they relate to the law.  A case in Virginia just made national headlines.  It was one of an armed robber whose whereabouts were traced over a seven-month period via data provided to prosecutors by Sprint.  The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled thereafter in a 2-1 decision that just because a third party holds information, it does not mean that it can be made freely available to police; they must obtain a warrant.  How did this case come to pass?  Were the police allowed before this case to get a private citizen’s cell phone records without a warrant?  This case was in Virginia, but what is the status of this issue in other states?  Tune in to hear our hosts answer these and other questions on this issue.
