Contrary to popular belief, the Lord's prayer is not the prayer found in Matthew 6: 9-13 where it states: "This, then, is how you should pray: " 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. This prayer is actually the "model prayer", where Jesus was teaching us how we should pray. The Lord's prayer is actually a prayer that Jesus himself prayed on behalf of the saints.
