Alfredo Rivera Jr. AKA CrazyFreddy was raised in the Columbia Point housing development in Boston, MA.  Struggling with Dyslexia early on, Alfredo found art and dance to be a productive outlet.  He started dancing at the age of 5.  He had a next door neighborhood and friend by the name of Airborne that was part of a group called Chaper-7 that also danced.  Airborne became his mentor and dance partner.  Alfredo was given his BBoy name NewBorne after his mentor Airborne.  He began dancing and learning the different techniques associated with break-dancing.  Dancing became his passion, his connection to the community and what kept him and many young men out of trouble.  Alfredo realized early on that the break-dancing community was very diverse in age and culture.  Break-dancing is what allowed for him to travel into South Boston, a predominately white neighborhood/town, when violence associated with racism among young people was at an all time high among whites, blacks, and latinos..see more
