Terry McBride is CEO of the Nettwerk Music Group and co-founder of the Lilith Fair.

Since 1984, Nettwerk's artists have released over 500 albums and have sold over 150 million copies worldwide. Clients include Sarah McLachlan and Jamiroquai.

We'll discuss advances in digital technology, intellectual property rights and the future of music distribution. We'll also discuss Nettwerk's new initiative, Polyphonic, which will invest directly into artist businesses, offering an alternative to the traditional label-driven investment model of the music industry.

"Polyphonic will seek to partner with artists and their management, providing the capital to enable them to operate their own businesses, retain their own copyrights and take a fair share of any profits that are generated."

Today's show is co-hosted by Bob Baker, an author, indie musician, and former music magazine editor who is dedicated to showing musicians how to get exposure, connect with fans, sell more music, and increase their incomes.

His books include "Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook," "MySpace Music Marketing," "Unleash the Artist Within," "55 Ways to Promote & Sell Your Book on the Internet," and more.

Bob also created the "Music Marketing 101" course at BerkleeMusic, the online continuing education division of Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Since 1995, Bob has been one of the early proponents of musicians taking their careers into their own hands, and not relying on major record labels.
