Linda Mann - Talking Tourism

How important is tourism to your community? This program will cover a variety of topics related to the impact that tourism has on a local economy and how businesses can benefit from this important industry. Our guest for this program is Linda Mann,vice president of marketing for the Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau. She brings over twenty years of Tourism experience, having worked in the hotel, attractions, events, travel agency, and travel publication sectors. She has served at both the state and local levels in destination marketing. With a background in the performing and visual arts, Linda has developed a special interest and expertise in promoting cultural tourism in Jackson and has been a contributing feature writer for local, regional, and national publications. Linda is a member of numerous Tourism, Public Relations and Cultural organizations and has won many awards for her work. Most recently, she was recognized as one of Mississippi’s Top Ten Businesswomen of 2009 by the Mississippi Business Journal and as Advanced Practitioner of 2009 by the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, Central Chapter.
