Max Scherzer was dominant and efficient and Ben Revere sparked the Washington Nationals' offense in what ended up an 8-2 win over the Miami Marlins. The Nats took 2 of 3 in Miami, and now they head home to face the New York Mets in a three-game set in the nation's capital. Scherzer went eight strong this afternoon before he handed it over to the bullpen and Revere was making things happen all game long as Dusty Baker's "igniter". Nationals now 27-17.
Hello baseball fans, and welcome back to another edition of The Rosterbatorical, the official MLB Daily Dish podcast. Sometimes plans go out the window, and that happened yesterday when Rougned Odor punched Jose Bautista and caused an bench-clearing brawl.
Chris and Matt enlist the help of Chris Cotillio and Michael Bradburn in order to unwrap this situation and break down it down from a number of diffferent angles.
They break down Bautista's slide, Odor's throw that might have started the whole thing, how long Odor's suspension is going to be and how the baseball world has responded to it.
It is a jam-packed episode, with four different voices bringing their opinions and thoughts to the table.
As always, you can follow the show @MLBDailyDish. Follow the hosts @ChrisRSchubert and @TheOriginalBull. Our guests can be found @ChrisCotillo and @MWBII
Normally 33% shorter wouldn't be a selling point, but when your first episode was three hours, it might be? In Episode 2, Jarrett and Jeffrey discuss how much to read into a bad road trip, how much Noah Syndergaard makes it move, and how much Eric Campbell we'll be seeing in the coming weeks. Next Corinne Landrey of Crashburn Alley and The Hardball Times joins the show to talk about the second place (?!) Phillies and if any of this is remotely sustainable. Then we answer your e-mails and introduce a fun game called "How Well Do You Know Your Co-host" before wrapping up with the likely soon to be de riguer wrestling and soccer talk.

After a frustrating road trip to Cleveland and New York, the Royals got some wins against Atlanta and Boston and started to hit the ball a bit.
The starting rotation changed a bit but it was an effective change, as Danny Duffy and Dillon Gee threw good innings.
So when the bats wake up and the pitching improves, it makes things more fun.
This week, we talked about all of these things: the hitting, the pitching, the future for Cheslor Cuthbert, the surprising move calling up Whit Merrifield and demoting Christian Colon, and the ever-growing legend of Eric Hosmer, who is mashing with regularity.
