Pets provide us with companionship and a sense of purpose. Studies have shown that the simple act of petting an animal can have a positive effect on our health. Across the country volunteers take their dogs, cats, birds and ferrets into nursing homes, schools, hospitals and anyother place where people need to have the companionship and unconditional love an animal brings. Tune in Friday, May 21 at 3:30 pm EST when Brad Phifer, CPDT talks with Dr. Sara Rudwell about the power of animal assisted therapy and her experience volunteering with her dog Gracie.
