Author/Philosopher/Playwright/ Professor Dr. Gary Blahnik.Dr. Blahnik has earned a B.A. in Linguistics and Religion (California State University, Fullerton), an M.A. in English (Xavier University), an M.A. in Counseling (Xavier University), an M.A. in Philosophy (University of Cincinnati), and a Ph.D. in Humanities (Union Institute & University). He has taught a wide variety of Philosophy courses, focusing on ethics, at a variety of colleges and universities.Gary published four original works in Philosophy developing a new philosophical perspective in which he seeks to integrate mind and body, spirit and matter, and traditional relativism with traditional objectivism, one work in Psychology where he applies his philosophical perspective to psychotherapeutic theory and practice, seeking to challenge the assumptions of current theory and practice of psychotherapy, ten full-length plays where he seeks to push the boundaries of theater, and two novels. After working in social work and counseling for more than a decade, Dr. Blahnik developed a strong interest in human social hierarchies and the effects that these forms of human organization have upon mental and physical health. In response to his opinion of the harmful effects of hierarchy and to his interest in drama, he is in the process of developing a democratic form of business referred to as Associated Independent Dramatic Artists. In doing so he hopes to create a viable form of human organization where equality replaces power differences and where human mental and physical health will be improved.
