Our Lives Before the Remarriage/Stepfamily Thing

Here's a subject that we don't talk about a lot.  Yet, it haunts us, right?  Let's discuss the lives that we all had before we became a stepfamily.  I have often found that the stepfamily life is so overwhelming that I have forgotten all about the life that I had prior to this one.  Isn't it ironic that it feels as if the life that our partner had, prior to the remarriage, dominates our lives.
