    eWaste Recycling

    Good Afternoon,

Just like to share my thoughts and practical experience with eWaste recycling for a non-profit.  It is good!  It can be as large or small as you like.  The more time you put into educating people the bigger your proceeds will grow.  Most people want to do good.  We are all busy with our lives, feeding ourselves, families, paying bills, educating our children and ourselves.  We just do not have recycling as a priority.  This can change with persistence and some patience.

    Example:

I worked with a group in January to get people in my religious community (Muslims) to recycle eWaste.  It took some training, constant reminders and some patience at the end when it was time to ship. We still have collection locations that have not completed packing.  However when it was all done we have 31 locations started with three or four, produced an audio tape that we know can use for future eWaste Recycling Drives and 31 people that have experienced recycling. Now when we do it again (probably in the early fall) we can expect to double what we did and get better at it.

The money is decent.  Just think someone is going to pay you 50 cents to $5.00 or more for items people are throwing away.  You have nothing to lose by asking people to bring them to you or asking them to collect up to five items and then you send them a label, spend five minutes talking them through the shipping process and waiting up to 30 days for a check to arrive.

Anyone who wants to join me in this venture we can work it out where all parties benefit. The goals here are simple; do not add any more pollution to the environment and raise money to help people who can not temporarily help themselves.

Let me hear from you.  I can be reached Tuesdays-Thursdays a (404) 608-8649 or email me any time at haleem1@aol.com.  Tell a friend or two to join you.

    Peace!
    Hadayai
