Public Service Campaign Slogan...Peace in the Home, Peace in the World

This year we give all the praise to Allah (God) and are so thankful for all of the blessings we have received as an organization.  I also give praise to Allah (God) for all of the individual blessings that have been bestowed upon me for doing this work.  A few years ago when we started producing slogans to be used in a media campaign we had to totally rely on others to get the word out.  Now we have our own radio shows on Internet radio, our own promotional item company (zazzle.com/hadayai) and we have loyal supporters all over the country.   We give praise to Allah (God) for all that we have received.

We still face some challenging opposition to our efforts in our local Islamic community, we are still somewhat challenged with raising the $250,00 per year needed to manage our programs in the manner that we would like to see them managed and we are forced due to insufficient funding to use hotels and property made available to us by a property manager to house families who have made the decision to leave abusive homes.

Our most recent and disturbing challenge is a horrific incident that happened a few weeks ago about five miles from our office, the media has referred to it as an "Honor Killing".  One of our own sisters in our local community Sandeela Kanwal was allegedly murdered by her father due to not wanting to continue in a marriage she did not want to enter into in the first place.  This is commonly known as arranged marriage.  In reality it is forced marriage. Many women around the world are forced into marriage by threats of being totally disconnected from family and community.  Often times these women do not see how they are going to care for themselves if they do not have their family and/or community approval of all that they do or say.  Sr. Kanwal's father is in the local county jail and has been indicted for her murder.  He has not given a plea in the case. At least one other hearing is going to be scheduled in this matter where he will be allowed to enter his plea of innocent or guilty.

It is so important that we not let the notion of peaceful family life become outdated.  We must continue to fight diligently for nurturing and safe home life in our cities, states, regions country and in the world.   When there is peace in the home there will be peace in the world. When more of our families locally and around the world are not in conflict we will see less conflict in the land.  It is such a simple concept yet one that tries us on every level.  When we focus on securing and making sure nurturing can happen in the home we will not have to focus on and spend the billions of dollars we spend on policing our cities, nation and the world.

As we continue to face our challenges and grow due to them we must always remain grateful to our creator for all that we are given.  There is power in the word Thank You!  There is power in recognizing that you are blessed and giving just due to the one who brings about all blessings Allah (God).

We ask you to visit our promotional product company www.zazzle.com/hadayai to view products with this years public service campaign logo and slogan on them.  Each time one is purchased and used we come closer to making peace in the home and peace in the world a reality.

We also invite you to visit our web site at www.baitulsalaam.net for updates.

We are so grateful to all of the blessings given to us by Allah (God).
