Belinda Vandenbroeck is a member of the Opaskwayak Cree Nation from The Pas, Manitoba.  She was born at Big Eddy Reserve at home.  She lived with and was bought up by her grandparents from the time she was one month old. Belinda went to the Anglican Church residential school, Mackay School, in Dauphin, Manitoba from 1957-1967. Her parents also attended the old Mackay School at Big Eddy Reserve where they were born.

She has lived a life of sobriety for 39 years and has been traveling her healing journey for as many years. Her life’s goal and passion has always been to learn about anything and everything that has to do with healing. I continue to carry on this passion to the present.

She has a B.A. in Native Studies and Psychology and is also trained in Time Line Therapy which assists individuals to heal the past from the root cause. Her company does 5 day personal development retreats for Aboriginal women. She has been doing presentations and workshops on the effects of residential schools, health and wellness for the past 25 years.

Belinda and Jean will discuss the impact the residential schools have had on the aboriginal culture in Canada.
