Stewardship – The position and duties of a steward. A steward is one who manages the property of another. He acts as a surrogate (substitute) for another. He is manages another’s property, finances, estate, etc.
Luke 12:42-46 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
God's house is His Kingdom. His way of thinking and being.
Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added.
Seeking God’s way of doing and being must be the heart of the steward of God. All things belong to God and since God has told us to seek Him first we trust that he knows what He is talking about and we do just that. Although, seeking the kingdom first entails being a wise steward of that which has been placed at our care. It is God's will that we prosper in our entirety. Prosperity is not just for a selective few but for each child of God that is willing to use apply the word in it fulness. Having a part of something brings no fruit and releases frustration to those who have no understanding.
