  Catherine McCabe - A Rose Out of Ashes

  Catherine McCabe is our guest today; she’ll be reading from her book of poetry: A Rose Out of Ashes. Catherine tells us that she developed a love for writing at an early age. Shy by nature, she found that writing gave her the perfect means to express herself. Suffering from major depression for much of her life, although only properly diagnosed recently, Catherine has found poetry a means of healing and expressing herself to others, allowing them to see glimpses of her that they would not otherwise know existed.   Children's author Darcie Mae is joining us today to share the first in a series of books that she wrote for children: Sammy & Robert. This book is the first in a series of ten. This book introduces Sammy, a gray squirrel, and Robert, a red squirrel. The story describes all of their differences and explains that no matter how different they are, they are best friends and depend on each other.
