We're scurrying on the edits to this Sunday's broadcast of "The Book, With Earl Merkel"-- and I don't know which chapter-segment I'm enjoying more:

-- an interview with Grand Master Lawrence Block, wherein he not only discusses his life & work... but also is HIGHLY skeptical of Neil Gaiman's insistence that he (Gaiman), in a moment of writer-insecurity, once read an ENTIRE MANUSCRIPT over the long-distance wires to a sympathetic editor...

-- Joe Clifford's insightful "audio essay," titled "Skinning Cats In The Digital Age," a personal POV on climbing the writing ladder written & voiced by the critically-acclaimed author of "Junkie Love"...

-- "Wish You Were Here," this week's "over the transom" piece by Rich Le Cropane, contributing editor here at The Book, taken from Doubtful Words, a collection of short stories written and adapted for radio by Mr. Le Cropane.

-- or the other essays, chapter excerpts, random musings, lunatic muttering and/or general chaos... all of which we're STILL cutting into Da Show, even tho it's already Friday, fer cryin' out loud...

Sunday night, 9 p.m. Eastern-- and you can listen in LIVE here!
