Special Guest Deonesia Grays founder of Bria's House! Shares her story on the unfortunate drowning of her then 4 year old daughter Bria. She also speaks about her mission to save other kids through her nonprofit organization Bria's House! This is an episode that every mother, father,or anyone who has a child in their care or in their family!Bria's House is a nonprofit organization that is committed to: Raising awareness for pool safety. Assisting low-income families with the cost of swimming lessons and aqua safety equipment. CPR certification Encouraging parents to educate themselves on pool supervision and accident prevention. Bria's Houses is in a RACE to reduce the rate of accidental drowning and pool injuries. Bria's House has been established to assist parents as myself about water safety. In May 2005 there was a drastic change in my life. I lost my daughter Bria Nicole Harvey to a pool incident. By the grace of God, I have made it through to advise and assist other parents to prevent this from happening to them. This organization is just the first step to the plans I have to allow her to live through me. I have spoken at a number of events for Harris County, YMCA, and local news stations and I have also been placed in the Houston Apartment Associations magazine sharing my story. There is no better teacher than life itself. I know parents can hear about it or see it all day long but hearing it from someone who has lived it I feel I can reach more. As a member of the Houston community I have a responsibility to our fellow neighbors. Bria's House will exude the highest quality effort and posses knowledge in regarding both informing and guiding in all safety issues. Although there are other places in Houston that you could choose from, Bria's House is based solely on my own personal experience. I vow to do whatever it takes to make this the most conducive path in order to reach all parents that can and will benefit from my outcome.
