Software Compliance Legal Insights

Steve Vondran, the Software Attorney explains whether or not audits are "voluntary" or must be complied with.  For example, if your company received what we affectionately refer to as "the love letter" from major software publishers such as Oracle, Bentley, CNC, Minitab, Symantec, Rosetta Stone, etc. are you legally OBLIGATED to comply?  Can you just throw away the letter?  What happens if you do?  Will the continue to come back at you until you provide an audit spreadsheet of all your company computers, laptops and servers, or might they just file a lawsuit (ex. willful copyright infirngement - aka software piracy) against the company creating a public relations and legal nightmare.

This video touches on the this topic.  If you need some help, we have helped many other businesses across the United States in navigating through these complex legal issues.  Call us for a free initial consultation at (877) 276-5084.  Please note, we get a good number of calls from in-house counsel, we offer a one hour paid consultation if you are wanting to handle this on behalf of the company.
