Please join me on February 22, 2010 to discuss my efforts to remove a chief from power utilizing the Indian Act! An act that governs and enshrines every aspect of our lives as Waywayseecappo First Nation - Treaty Four 1874 band members. The process of trying to utilize the Indian Act to remove a chief from power began on October 31, 2009 when the chief of the reserve was quietly convicted and sentenced for his 3rd Drinking offense within a period of (5) years, a crime that should have resulted in an automatic jail sentence and 5 year driving prohibition. To make matters worse, the community is in disarray, with an education system that can only be described as "shameful", housing that is considered 3rd world, and no hope for those brave enough to try escape the cycle of poverty. This community crisis state can only be attributed to years of social neglect, mediocre & incompetent leadership under this chief, whom still clings to power selflessly, shamefully, and all the while continuing to embarrass our once proud band. So once again, please join me on February 22, 2010 to analyze what happened, and the present situation. This issue will be brought to an end on this date with further discussions focusing on the future of our band of indians, Waywayseecappo First Nation - Treaty Four 1874! Miigwetch, Gregory Cadotte
