Join us as we chat with Mrs Alison Christie, a Pride of Britain Award Winner 2000, as she share how she used a terrible experience to help others overcome.

Alison attended Bishops High School and taught Music at the President College in Guyana before she returned to England in 1989. She worked and studied at university, graduated a teacher.

It was while she was studying, she was beaten by four hooligans and seriously injured. Instead of feeling despondent about herself, she became a public speaker to social groups, the police and students about Racial Relations in the Community.

She was also invited to speak all over Britain about her experiences and sharing strategies on overcoming in racist environments.

At present, she works as a Primary School Teacher and a mediator for parents and the school. She is happily married and has three children.
