David's passion is to journey with others through vision quests and rites of passage to reveal the meaning and purpose of life and facilitate transformational experiences in the wild which renew our relationship with the more-than-human world.

David worked as a chaplain’s assistant in the Army stationed at the Pentagon and then after four years of military service he ordained as a priest in the Episcopalian Church and then as an Eastern Orthodox priest. Eventually David left the priesthood to explore universal spiritual wisdom and to work in programs offering transformational experiences in the wild.

At the age of 50, David began working as a wilderness guide for wilderness therapy programs for at-risk-youth and young adults and pursued graduate studies in eco-psychology and wilderness therapy at Naropa University, in Boulder, CO. He also obtained outdoor leadership certifications from the National Outdoor Leadership School, the Wilderness Education Association, the Outdoor Leadership Training Seminars, Colorado River Guide Certification, and Wilderness First Responder. He also trained as a vision quest guide with The School of Lost Borders. He also spent a year at the Tara Mandala Buddhist Retreat Center in Colorado, teaching basic meditation and mindfulness.

David now offers spiritual programs, vision quests, and rites of passage ceremonies in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona.
