Dear Weight Management Participants,
Let’s talk about Halloween….
…one of the biggest candy and junk food holidays of the year!
This holiday brings about memories of our youth when we went costume-clad to school and spent endless hours after school until dark trick-or-treating with our ghoul-friends. Now, your children and other neighborhood kiddies are following in our traditional footsteps. Most homes, whether children live there or not, will have the customary bowl of goodies to give out when their doorbells start to ring.
I ask that you keep in mind your goals today and in the following days when all of those tempting treats come into your home. Think carefully when you see your hand reaching for a goody and ask yourself “Is this helping me to reach my goal?” If the answer is ‘no’, do yourself a favor and take a giant step backwards.
Many of you are working very hard on attaining your ideal weight. Some of you are at a plateau right now as your bodies are adjusting to their new lighter weight environments. Some of you think you’re eating right, but deep down know that you are not. A decision is made every time we select an item to eat. Help yourself by making the right decision. If you’re in doubt, take a look at your journal and choose from the low-glycemic food list. Stay away from the moderate and high glycemic foods. Your shopping list that you received from me is also a great guideline. Please keep these lists easily accessible. In some traditions, Halloween signifies the start of a new year. Take a moment today to reflect upon this: The Start Of A New YearNew Year’s are surrounded by setting new goals, getting disciplined, clearing out clutter, bringing about positive changes, etc. This is a great time to re-evaluate where you are and start fresh today. Begin by limiting the number of goodies kept in the house and kept in plain sight.
I have two new groups beginning next week. Prior group participants can attend for $150. First-time participants $295/person (includes a $45 voucher for supplements of choice)Tuesdays beginning Nov. 6, 11am-12:30pm for 6-weeksat In Sync Dance Center, 4877 Merrick Road, Massapequa ParkWednesdays beginning Nov. 7, 7pm-8:30pm for 6-weeksat my home in East Rockaway, NY,
If you or anyone you know is interested, please have them call me right away. There must be 6 participants in each group for it to take place.
Happy Halloween!Your friend in fitness and health,Michele Weeks
