Ask Lita for a Business People Connection to brand strategy consultants and creative directors.

Bob Killian, a brand consultant, discusses brand development considerations and shares critical information for brand building.

Since 1987, Bob Killian has led the creative and insightful team at Killian Branding, a Chicago-based strategic agency. After working for decades at ad agencies small, medium and large, he realized that most agencies ignored valuable brand assets, failing to evolve from their focus on advertising, which is now just one tactic in creating brand equity. The goal is now to create brands that are visible, differentiated, and urgent. To build those three dimensions of a powerful brand requires multiple disciplines including company and product naming, design, SEO, SEM, and yes, advertising.

Bob wears many hats: creative director, branding consultant, graphic designer, marketing strategist, web designer, author and lecturer. This collection of skills has been an invaluable resource for clients in every category from consumer goods to financial services to universities, non-profits, high-tech and business-to-business goods and services.

Bob is the co-author of Do-It-Yourself Advertising and Promotion (3rd Edition, Wylie Press). His White Papers are taught in a dozen graduate schools of business.
