Kathleen St. John, Composer, Pianist, Artist and Playwright was born in California and presently resides in San Diego.  She attended Audubon Jr. High School in Los Angeles, CA. from 1953 through 1955 and then moved on to Dorsey High School also in Los Angeles from 1955 through 1958.  She finished her High School education at La Jolla High School receiving her diploma in 1960.  She received her B.M. Degree in Music Composition from The Juilliard School in 1971 studying under Luciano Berio and Hugo Weisgall, with Piano studies under the renowned Russian-born pianist/teacher Ania Dorfmann.  At that time Ms. St. John also studied electronic music at the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center under Vladimir Ussachevsky, Mario Davidovsky, Bulent Arel and Alice Shields.
