The Reverend Mallory is a Board Emeritus of the Bethesda Health Clinic and serves on the Andrews Angel board of directors where she helps serve the needs of the mentally disabled in our community. “I believe that we are our ‘brother’s keeper,’ and as such, we are to provide help for those in need: food for those who are hungry, support for those who are hurting, acceptance for those who feel unacceptable, prayer for those with spiritual needs, shelter for those with no place to go, and love for those who feel unloved,” the Reverend Mallory said. “In doing this, we are in line with God’s admonition, ‘In as much as you have done it unto one of the least o these my brethren, you have done it unto me.’ ”
The Reverend Mallory has served the needs of our community in many facets. Her professional work as the Minister of Ministries and Missions at First Baptist Church of Tyler brings her in contact with numerous community volunteer agencies, including the Salvation Army, Red Cross, East Texas Rescue Mission, East Texas Crisis Center, and Meals on Wheels, just to name a few. The Reverend Mallory’s personal work with Alzheimer’s patients was inspired by her late husband, Tom Mallory, who was a victim of the disease. The Reverend Mallory was born in Kermit, Texas, and has lived in Tyler for 54 years. She and her late husband have three adult children and six grandchildren. The Reverend Mallory has written and published five books and is an active motivational speaker throughout Texas and beyond.
