Thursday, May 10, 2012 at noon Ashford Publishing Radio is proud to present Dr. Barb and the 5th show in the series “Have You Held Your Infant Today?”  Dr. Barb Morrison, PhD, CNM and Ashford Radio’s 2012 Healthcare Provider of the Year, will be discussing how holding and touch can momentously benefit special care infants.  Special care infants are the babies born early, too small, with birth anomalies or addictions.  They frequently spend days or weeks separated from their parents in the neonatal intensive care unit. However, Kangaroo Care, moms or dads holding their baby skin-to-skin, allows parents to be intimately involved in their baby’s care and can lead to rapid health improvement. Dr. Barb with share the evidence for and stories of Kangaroo care with infants in special care.
