Thunderbird is the Owner of Bounty Farms, which specializes in organic goods and products located in Little Falls, New York. Her practices are designed to encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution. Rather than using chemical weedkillers, she conducts more sophisticated crop rotations and spreads mulch or manure to keep weeds at bay.

Thunderbird is also a member of the Shinnecock Tribe. She is the granddaughter of the Shinnecocks’ late ceremonial sachem Henry Bess, who was known as Chief Thunderbird on the 800-acre Shinnecock Reservation. Margo is the writer of the article “Myths and Mythunderstandings: Shinnecocks Propose New Laws for Native American Burial Sites”, which explains the myth that there is no consequence for desecrating Indian graves, especially on private property, and the myth understanding that violations of our sacred burial grounds will never again go unchallenged.
