  Sherri Lewis authored her first book at the age of six. Her family considered her pencil and crayon on brightly colored construction paper creation a masterpiece. She continued to enjoy writing short stories and poems throughout her young adult life. Her writing was put on hold while she attended Howard University as an undergraduate, then medical school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.   I was born and raised by my parents on the southside of Chicago. My parents gave me great advantages by putting me in dance classes, piano lessons and putting me in private schools. By the time I went to high school, I realized I love to run and I quickly joined the track team. This love, paired with talent, afforded me a full scholarship to college.   The First Lady of Gospel Comedy
  
  “It is my intent to draw attention to God’s message of love through humor. If we can love God whom we have never seen, yet cannot love the ones we can see, then we have missed God’s entire message.”
  
  Pat G’Orge (pronounced Gee-or-jay) - Walker is in a league of her own. This accomplished Christian author and comedienne has an amazing mind and talent for turning her observations of church and black church life, in particular, into gems of sidesplitting humor. It is her own special gift from God that enables G’Orge-Walker to depict the often ridiculous antics of church folk. She does it without subverting the Good News or watering down the potency of its message.
  
  Pat G’Orge-Walker has led a colorful life professionally, to say the least. She is a former music industry veteran who has worked for several major labels including Epic, Def Jam and Columbia. She cut her chops as a singer by performing with the legendary 60s girl group, Arlene Smith and the Chantels (“Maybe”) as well as with the gospel groups The Spiritualettes and The Heavenly Two. And she has written as well as acted in stage presentations.
  
  In the 1970s G’Orge-Walker began penning short stories featuring a main character that has an intimate and impacting encounter with God Almighty on the telephone, the now infamous Sister Betty. But it wasn’t until 1997 that she actually self-published the first in a series of books and that book – Sister Betty God is Calling! – is now being sold on Amazon.com as a collector’s item.

  A little bit about myself. I was born and raised by my parents on the southside of Chicago. My parents gave me great advantages by putting me in dance classes, piano lessons and putting me in private schools. By the time I went to high school, I realized I love to run and I quickly joined the track team. This love, paired with talent, afforded me a full scholarship to college.
  
  I was one of those students who couldn't figure out what I should major in, but I knew I wanted to make an impact by helping people. Eventually, I decided to get my degree in Social Work.
  
  Once I graduated, I moved back to Chicago and got a "JOB". I was so excited, because I was now a working professional. After working a few short weeks, I realized that this was not what I wanted to do with my life. I had no time for family, friends or myself. I had no life and wasn't having any fun.
  
  Here I was, following the road we're all taught; go to school and get a "GOOD JOB". I quickly realized that there was no such thing as "GOOD and JOB" (one that would pay me what I was truly worth), and that the majority of people who followed this path retired broke. It seemed, as though, everyone I knew fell into two categories: 1. They either had lots of time, but no money or 2. Lots of money, but no time.
  
  My "AH-HA" moment came when I read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. I realized, I needed to have something I could control and call my own.
  
  So, I decided to study what successful people were doing and I implemented it into my daily life. I soon realized that in order to have both time and money, I needed to work smart and not hard. I incorporated these aspects into my daily life, even though my family and friends said that I was crazy and that it wouldn't work. This inspired me even more, so I kept pushing and kept my eyes on the prize.

  I've written and perform an out-of-the-box one-woman experience, WALKIN' ON WATER WHEN THE GROUND AIN'T ENUF, which debuted Jan. 2007 in the historic U Street Corridor in Washington, DC. It was a rousing and raving success with a standing-room-only audience. My son, Mike Tucker, Jr., produced "the experience."
  
  God has also blessed me to tour the country and abroad inspiring and challenging individuals through what's been called "colorful personal testimonies of getting real, prayed-up and empowered to discover and live out God's plans and purposes." My ministry is built on the scriptures Jeremiah 29:11-14 and Revelation 12:11.
  I also give talks at universities and prisons.
