Mary E., welcomes CarrieSpitler, Executive Director of Snow City Arts to discuss the impact that Snow City Arts is having to improve the overall well-being of the children served by local children's hospitals. Sadia Uqaili Chief Program Officer will also be joining us to celebrate the upcoming event NOISE  scheduled for September 12. Snow City Arts is preparing for its Snow City Arts Gallery Night 2014: Noise – A Day Without Laughter Is a Day Wasted Gallery Night benefit on Friday, September 12 at the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago. At Gallery Night 2014, SCA is proud to announce, the Chicago Blackhawks will accept this year’s Neisser Award in honor of their commitment to arts education for children and youth in hospitals through financial support and unique joint programming with Snow City Arts.

Snow City Arts provides one-on-one instruction in the arts, multiple mediums, music, film-making  to patients at Rush Children’s Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and Children’s Hospital University of Illinois. Snow City Arts augments those services in each hospital we serve by addressing a child’s developmental and educational needs through the arts. Our teaching artists typically work with an individual child at his or her bedside.
