Meet Jena Sims, Former Miss Teen USA, now producer Roger Corman’s IT GIRL. Known for creating iconic cult classics such as Piranha and Death Race 2000, and his ability to discover talented actors and directors early in their careers: alumni of the Corman school of filmmaking include James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Joe Dante, Paul Bartel and Jack Nicholson, to name just a handful, Corman personally selected Jena to play the lead in his latest production (and surprisingly, first 3D picture) “Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader” which premiered at Comic-Con this past month and is set for a release on EPIX August 25th.
As a fan of the genre, Jena was ecstatic to portray the role of Cassie Stratford, an aspiring college cheerleader, who consumes an experimental drug that grants her beauty and enough athletic ability to make the cheer squad. The drug has an unforeseen side effect - Cassie starts to grow uncontrollably. It was Jena’s natural talent that got her foot in the door, but now Corman has put his reputation on the line using Jena to attract an already large following of fans with this new take on the CULT movie classic, "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman." The film became an instant classic and was responsible for launching Daryl Hannah's career to new heights.
Having already appeared in Entourage, Dexter, Vampire Diaries, CSI, One Tree Hill, Leverage, fans are eagerly waiting on Jena’s film debut.
